  • SpringDale Football Club – on the move

By webmaster on Sun 2nd May 2010 | Filed in Sports

SpringDale FC are putting the final pieces into place for the 2010 outdoor soccer season, which is due to kick off in the first weekend of May. Please get in touch if you are interested in playing in one of our senior or junior teams, as the final few spaces are filling up fast. The club has entered the following teams into competition:

    2 x senior mens teams
    1 x under 9′s mixed team
    2 x under 7′s mixed teams

The club also runs a soccer program for those children who are 5 years old or younger, with the aim being to develop their coordination and skills, to learn the basics of being part of a team and above all to have fun.

Registration for competition and fun programs is necessary, fees are $75 for juniors to play in competition or $30 to take part in the training programs. All fees contribute to the cost of insuring our young players and contributing towards overheads.

Training for juniors is now run indoors at Drysdale Primary School Hall, from 6pm onwards on Friday evenings. At the same location on Wednesdays, the senior mens team train by having a social futsal (5 a side soccer) match at 7.30pm onwards, social players are welcome to come and have a kick, players of all abilities and fitness levels will be made welcome.

Whilst pre-season preparations have taken up most of our time, we did make an appearance at the Bunyip festival in March, where our club’s stand was very busy with the large numbers of children, who won a free prize each for having a go at scoring a goal. Our thanks go to the organisers of this excellent family event.
