    Buy local

Please encourage our local growers and refuse to buy asparagus from Peru, grapes from USA and garlic from China available at Woolworths. I definitely support the Harvest Swap at SpringDale each month.

    Tim, Clifton Springs.

Editor: Harvest Swap was a great idea for the community.

    Informative Magazine

Recently, while recovering from a hip replacement, I took time to read your magazine and found it quite informative. John, Drysdale.

Editor:We like providing as much information as possible to help the community.

    Recipes

I have a collection of your recipes now, which have proved useful and delicious on many occasions.

    Trish, Drysdale.

Editor: Most people seem to enjoy our recipe pages.
    ICE

Just thought some of your readers who have a mobile phone might like advice that was given to me. Program the letters ICE (in case of emergency) into your speed dial and number with it. This could help in a crisis. Denise, Clifton Springs.

Editor: That certainly is good advice

    Denise.

    Noticeboard

The SpringDale noticeboard is very prominent and catches the eye on passing. Could it be used on Total Fire Ban days to alert the community.

    Bob, Drysdale.

Editor: Thanks Bob, that is definitely something to think about. Looks good

You guys are doing a fantastic job, the Messenger seems to look better each issue.

    Geoff, Drysdale.

Editor: Thanks for the positive feedback Geoff.

    Good News

When you look at a newspaper it is always full of bad news, but the SpringDale Messenger is a pleasant change with future events, people’s lives and plenty of classes to keep you inspired.

    Where is the sport?

Australians have always loved sport and with so many sporting clubs in our region it is sad to see that the Messenger does not have many contributions from sporting bodies.
    John / Clifton Springs
Editor: We are working on that John. See page 23 this issue. (or click here) Read more >>
