Vacation Care

Operates for children who are enrolled in primary school and are 5-12 years of age. Sessions are held during School Vacation periods and the hours meet the needs of parents and children. This service is supported by the Commonwealth Government with Sustainability funding which allows us to keep our numbers to 20 or below. The service is also registered for Child Care Rebate funding.

Priority is given to:

• Children at risk
• Children who are there for work/study related childcare
• Other children.

 

SpringDale Vacation Care is considered to be an extension of children’s home and leisure time. The service endeavours to reflect the children’s interests, generally activities such as videos, television, computers and electronic games are not offered in the program of activities. This is because we believe that Vacation Care is an opportunity for children to play and interact with each other in a way that will enhance their self-esteem, advance their social skills, stimulate enquiring and inventive minds and encourage physical activity.

However on wet weather days, very hot days, special theme days and late in the day videos of G or PG rating may be offered along with other activities to cater for all interests.
